WINDS OF ADONAI

WoA is a group of lay brothers and sisters coming together to do the Lord’s will through Praise & Worship. The Holy Spirit has impressed upon us to unite and bring Christians from ALL different denominations to worship Jesus as ONE and make Him known to the ends of the earth through Songs & Music.

We are living in an exciting time, “the Acceptable year of the Lord”, a season where all Christians must come together in peace and unity to Praise and Worship the Living God, Christ Jesus, and experience the Power of His resurrection, ascension in to heaven and the coming of the Holy Spirit.

BACKGROUND HISTORY

_In early 2008, three friends who used to be in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) worship ministry since 1998 met again after 10 years and decided to start a gospel band going. Interestingly, all three came from a TOTALLY different job background BUT always had a heart to serve God through music.

The group started off calling themselves “The Adonai Brothers", performing at a number of worship retreats and gospel concerts in Penang Island right up to the North of Peninsular Malaysia. The band received overwhelming responses from Churches of all denominations. This had inspired them to use songs as a vehicle and tool to bring people from different denominations, uniting them together with one heart to worship the One and Only God. Soon, worship became their lifestyle.

Many who had seen this passion supported and encouraged the group to continue doing God’s work and this had led to more members joining in. Every Saturday afternoon was dedicated fervently to Prayer, Praise, Worship and Fellowship. On the 26 July 2008, they officially came together as a group but still didn’t have a name to identify themselves. In one year, God had already led the group into greater visions, plans and opened more doors of opportunity to reach out through songs and music of praise. What initially started as a gospel band had led to a ministry of Praise, Worship, Healing, Deliverance and Teaching of the Gospel. Finally, after waiting upon the Lord for months, they were led to call themselves the “Winds of Adonai”.

THE NAME

The name “Winds of Adonai" originated from the vision and instructions God gave the group after much prayer.

Winds:

From the Hebrew, rûach, = wind, breath, life, spirit.
Also signifies four winds from the four corners of the earth, representing people of all denominations coming to worship Jesus in ONE HEART.

Adonai:

In the Hebrew language = Lord, Ruler.
God is Lord, clearly defines our role as servants of our Lord, the God with outright ownership of our life and all things in Heaven and Earth. This defines our role as servants to our Adonai.
